We have an opening for a full-time, year round Sales Yard Assistant at our Powells Point Landscape Distribution Center(LDC). This is an outside position assisting with the care, maintenance and handling of plant material and other hard goods on the sales yard. Interested candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds on a regular basis and willing to work under various weather conditions. Must have your own transportation to and from work.

Candidate needs to have:

Some knowledge of trees/shrubs/annuals and perennials preferred Landscaping and/or lawn maintenance exprience preferred Experience driving tractor, forklift and front-end loaders Prior nursery/farm/lawn maintenance experience preferred . Basic computer skills Good oral and written communication skills Attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Work in various weather conditions Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds regularly Valid NC Driver's License and good driving record preferred Good work ethic, dependable and on time Responsibilities and Duties Assist customers in loading plant material to include using specialized equipment to load large container items. Load mulch, top soil, stone and other hard goods for customers and deliveries. Unload trucks bringing in stock, new or re-wholesale plant material. Assist with watering, fertilizing, weeding and trimming. Assist with the planting and maintenance of the flowerbeds around the LDC. Assist with ground maintenance duties such as mowing, trimming, raking and sweeping. May be assigned in other areas or assist at another location as workload demands

•Must be willing to work 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday(Position is Year Round) Background check and drug screen required for this position.
