Division:
Campus Operations - Caswell Description The purpose of this position is to perform custodial and cleaning duties, transport mail and packages between campuses, and assist in maintenace activities at Piedmont Community College's Caswell Campus. Part-time work schedule will not exceed 26 hours/week. Examples of Duties Essential Duties Cleans, dusts, sweeps, mops and disposes of trash in the campus buildings according to assigned job schedule. Cleans bathrooms, floors, walls, windows, furniture, trash cans, fixtures and equipment. Check paper products in bathrooms. Transport and distribute mail and packages between Caswell and Person Campuses daily. Assist with set-up/tear-down for campus events. Maintains professional appearance of self and campus at all times. Additional Duties Assist maintenance in the upkeep of campus buildings and grounds. Performs other duties as assigned by
Director, Facilities Services Typical Qualifications Education and Experience:
Completion of high school/GED. One (1) year of experience in a related field.
Licenses and Certificates:
Valid state driver's license. Supplemental Information Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of custodial equipment (vacuum cleaners, mops and mop buckets, dust mops, high dusters and floor maintenance equipment). Knowledge of gas-powered maintenance equipment (weedeaters, blowers) and cordless hand tools. Ability to read and understand label instructions on various chemicals. Skilled in written and verbal communications. Physical Demands This job requires frequently standing, walking, and kneeling. Must be comfortable working on a step ladder. Occasionally required to lift 50 pounds. Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to indoor environment, outdoor environment, noise, moisture and/or humidity, dust, and chemical hazards.
