Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team and ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of outdoor grounds and facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining landscaped areas, operating grounds maintenance equipment, and performing general repairs to keep our outdoor spaces safe, attractive, and functional. Your expertise in landscaping, mechanical systems, and outdoor maintenance will contribute significantly to creating a welcoming environment for visitors, staff, and community members. Duties Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and planting bed care to ensure healthy growth and visual appeal. Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, power tools, excavators, irrigation systems, and landscaping machinery safely and efficiently. Conduct routine inspections of irrigation systems; troubleshoot issues; perform repairs or coordinate with specialists for complex fixes. Maintain hardscape features like pathways, patios, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures through cleaning, repair, or replacement as needed. Identify plants accurately to support horticultural health; manage pest control using appropriate pesticide management techniques following safety protocols. Assist with tree care including trimming, pruning, and removal of hazardous trees while adhering to safety standards. Support groundskeeping activities by managing gardening tasks, landscape design projects, and seasonal plantings to enhance outdoor aesthetics. Requirements Proven experience in outdoor work environments with knowledge of grounds maintenance and landscaping practices. Mechanical knowledge related to operating power tools, hand tools, irrigation systems, and landscaping equipment such as excavators and tree trimmers. Strong understanding of horticulture principles including plant identification and care. Ability to follow safety protocols rigorously during all maintenance activities. Experience with pesticide management and applying chemicals responsibly when necessary. Excellent physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions; ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks. Valid driver's license with experience operating grounds maintenance machinery is preferred.
