CITY MAINTENANCE PERSON

City of Crofton, Nebraska The City of Crofton is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and motivated individual to serve as a City Maintenance Person. This position is responsible for maintaining city streets, parks, buildings, equipment, and other municipal property while helping keep the community clean, safe, and well-maintained.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to: Maintain and repair city streets, alleys, and public areas Operate and maintain city vehicles, trucks, tractors, mowers, and other equipment Mow and maintain parks, city property, and other public areas Perform snow and ice removal from streets and public areas Perform street repairs, patching, grading, and general maintenance Maintain and repair city buildings and facilities Maintain and repair signs, sidewalks, curbs, and other city infrastructure Assist with water, sewer, and other municipal utility maintenance as needed Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report needed repairs Keep city property, tools, vehicles, and equipment clean and in good working condition Assist with cleanup following storms, emergencies, and other community events Respond to maintenance needs and emergencies as directed Perform other duties as assigned by the City

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in maintenance, construction, landscaping, equipment operation, or a related field preferred Ability to operate lawn mowers, tractors, trucks, and other equipment safely Valid driver's license and good driving record Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials Basic mechanical and maintenance skills preferred Dependable, responsible, and willing to learn

WORK SCHEDULE

This position requires a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, or emergency call-ins, particularly for snow removal, storms, water or sewer issues, and other urgent maintenance needs.
