The Temp Maintenance Worker performs entry‑level to semi‑skilled maintenance, repair, and construction work in support of City facilities, infrastructure, parks, streets, and public properties. This position works as part of a crew under close to general supervision and is intended for individuals developing skills and experience in municipal maintenance operations. Employees receive on‑the‑job training and are expected to follow established procedures and safety standards. Essential Job Functions
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of City buildings, streets, parks, sidewalks, utilities, and public grounds.
- Assist with construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of curbs, streets, drainage systems, sidewalks, fencing, signage, and park amenities.
- Perform tasks such as mowing, trimming, landscaping, painting, cleaning, litter removal, snow and ice control, and minor repairs.
- Operate light maintenance equipment and hand and power tools such as mowers, trimmers, compactors, drills, saws, and small vehicles.
- Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from work sites.
- Assist skilled trades workers and higher‑level maintenance staff with projects as directed.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Maintain work sites in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Respond to weather‑related and emergency maintenance needs, including snow removal and storm cleanup.
- Interact professionally and courteously with coworkers and the public.
- All other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- No prior experience required; one year of maintenance, construction, landscaping, or related labor experience preferred.
- Valid State Driver's License required.
- Ability to obtain required certifications (including CDL if applicable) within specified timeframes.

Pay:
$15.43 - $19.40 per hour
