Maintenance Assistant Betty Dare Wellness & Rehabilitation Alamogordo, New Mexico Full-Time | Maintenance Join Our Team! Betty Dare Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The Maintenance Assistant will work closely with the Maintenance Director and facility leadership to help keep our building safe, functional, clean, and well maintained for our residents, employees, and visitors. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and taking pride in keeping a facility in great condition. Healthcare experience is preferred, but not required. Candidates with general maintenance, handyman, apartment maintenance, construction, or similar experience are encouraged to apply. What You'll Do Complete general maintenance and repair work throughout the facility Respond to maintenance work orders in a timely manner Assist with minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs Perform routine inspections of resident rooms and common areas Assist with preventative maintenance of facility equipment and building systems Identify and report safety or maintenance concerns Assist with room preparation, repairs, and improvements Help maintain the building, grounds, and exterior areas Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies when needed Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance work areas Assist with fire safety and emergency preparedness activities Work with outside vendors and contractors as directed Help maintain required maintenance and inspection documentation Respond to urgent facility maintenance needs as assigned Follow facility safety policies and applicable regulatory requirements Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned Qualifications Previous maintenance, handyman, construction, facilities, or related experience preferred Healthcare or skilled nursing facility experience is a plus, but not required Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs preferred Ability to safely use common hand and power tools Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Dependable with good attendance and follow-through Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication and organizational skills Willingness to learn and take direction Ability to perform the physical responsibilities associated with a maintenance position Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who notices when something needs attention and takes pride in getting it fixed.
