City of Deming Job Vacancy Announcement Maintenance Tech•Electrical Helper, Range 6, $15.00/hr. Open until Filled. The City of Deming is seeking qualified applicants for a regular, full time Maintenance Tech position to be an Electrical Helper to the city Electrician . This position is subject to ON•CALL STATUS a nd is a condition of continued employment . Requirements of the

Position:

The primary responsibility of the selected employee will be to assist the city Electrician in a wide variety of electrical duties as assigned. Assists with routine, unskilled manual labor. Employees in this class perform work of a manual nature that does not require a high degree of manipulative skill or previous experience in order to do an effective job. Work is usually closely supervised.

Applicant shall possess:

• Valid State of NM Driver's License and good driving record. HS Diploma or GED Knowledge of the care and use of standard hand tools used in the construction and maintenance of public works and facilities. Ability to read, understand and follow specific written and oral instructions. Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions. Ability to get along well with co-workers. Good physical condition and health; sufficient physical strength and ability to permit the lifting and moving of heavy objects. Skill in the use of hand tools essential to the work performed. Some experience in performing heavy manual work is desired.
