Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Worker to support the upkeep and enhancement of our outdoor spaces and facilities. As a Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, landscape management, and ensuring the safety and aesthetic appeal of our grounds. Duties Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and general gardening to maintain healthy and attractive outdoor spaces. Operate groundskeeping equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, excavators, and power tools safely and efficiently. Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed. Conduct tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and identifying potential hazards for safety. Apply pesticides and fertilizers responsibly while adhering to safety protocols to promote plant health. Maintain hardscape features such as walkways, patios, and retaining walls by performing repairs or cleaning as necessary. Assist with snow plowing during winter months to ensure safe access across the property. Follow all safety procedures diligently while handling equipment and chemicals to prevent accidents or injuries. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience operating various landscaping and groundskeeping tools. Extensive outdoor work experience with a focus on grounds maintenance and landscaping techniques. Knowledge of plant identification, horticulture practices, and pest management strategies. Proficiency in irrigation system installation, troubleshooting, and repair. Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators safely and effectively. Familiarity with lawn care practices including mowing, aeration, fertilization, and soil management. Understanding of safety protocols related to pesticide application, equipment operation, and outdoor work environments. Excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a dynamic setting. Ability to identify plants requiring pruning or treatment for disease or pests. Experience with hardscape construction or repair is a plus for maintaining outdoor features effectively.
