Job Description:

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join our facilities team as a Building Maintenance Helper . This position plays a vital role in ensuring our school buildings and grounds are clean, safe, and in working order. The ideal candidate will be skilled in performing a variety of manual labor tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of buildings and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in cleaning, window washing, floor scrubbing, and general upkeep of buildings. Check boilers to ensure correct operation. Perform minor carpentry work (e.g., furniture repair). Prepare surfaces and assist with interior painting. Maintain grounds, including mowing lawns and trimming shrubs. Replace light bulbs and fuses. Clean lavatories and polish metal fixtures. Assist with snow and ice removal. Maintain tools and mechanical equipment. May operate light vehicles and maintenance equipment.

Qualifications:

At least one (1) year of experience in general manual labor. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Working knowledge of basic building maintenance tools and practices. Manual dexterity and physical stamina are required to perform duties. Must be in good physical condition.
