Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Building Maintenance Technician, where your expertise keeps our buildings safe, functional, and welcoming! In this vital role, you will perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks across various building systems and interior spaces. Your proactive approach and technical skills will ensure that our facilities operate smoothly, providing a comfortable environment for all occupants. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. Duties Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal operation. Performing routine maintenance repair, paint, and patch drywall, replace locks and replace light bulbs. Repair and troubleshoot issues. Perform mechanical repairs including carpentry, and maintenance painting to uphold building interior standards. Maintain and repair heating and plumbing systems, including changing filters, pipes, fixtures, and drainage to prevent leaks or failures. Operate hand tools and power tools safely for various maintenance tasks while adhering to safety protocols. Lead or assist with building interior maintenance projects while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Identify major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment, discuss with Property Maintenance Supervisor and implement a plan for corrective action. Ensure all safety systems such as carbon monoxide, fire/smoke detectors, alarm systems and locking doors are fully operational and functioning at all times. Prepare vacant unit in a timely manner to assist the Site Manager with lease up of new tenant(s). Responds ( on a rotating schedule ) to after hours, weekends, and AH&D designated holidays on-call emergencies. Skills Strong Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in facilities equipment maintenance and repair. Experience with plumbing system maintenance and repair to address leaks or system failures promptly. Familiarity with residential painting, maintenance painting techniques, and building interior upkeep. Competence in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment safely and effectively. Excellent customer service skills to communicate clearly with team members and builiing occupants. $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
