Job Description

Job Summary:
Under indirect supervision, the Maintenance and Grounds Associate 1 is responsible for simple repair and maintenance of the building and grounds which support the facility's maintenance projects according to safety, cleanliness and grounds facility requirements to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. The position applies knowledge of reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service of building and grounds equipment.
What you will do:
Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities which support the facility's maintenance projects. Refers more complex items to higher level staff. Performs cleaning duties, cleans floors, mopping, washing walls and glass if needed, emptying trash recycles, restock supplies. Monitors building security & safety by performing tasks as shut down lights, switching compressors over. Ice and snow removal via one of the following as needed; shovel, snowblower, Bobcat (training will be provided as needed). Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service of building and grounds equipment. Diagnose simple problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments with manager approval. Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved. Perform a variety of electrical and plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Contacts and schedules vendors and contractors for necessary building repairs and emergencies that are outside the scope of routine maintenance. Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in building. Perform other duties associated with the support of the facility and its operations as assigned.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum six (6) months related experience in environmental services, maintenance, or custodial field is a plus.

Hearing:
Adequate to perform job duties in person, over the telephone, and in office setting.
Speaking:
Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.
VVision :
Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including ability to work on a computer screen.
Other :
May require lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted, including assisting co-workers when required. Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite duties. Requires frequent bending, reaching, twisting, repetitive hand movements, and standing, walking, squatting, sitting, and looking at a computer screen for long periods at a time. U.S.
