No County Lewis Street Address 7327 State Route 812 City Lowville State NY Zip Code 13367 Duties Description Construct, maintain, and rehabilitate infrastructure including buildings, dams, bridges, access roads, trails, and boundary lines. Will be required to perform moderate to heavy manual labor, climb a ladder and work at heights from scaffolds and platforms; and operate large tractors and mowers as well as light and heavy equipment. Will be required to haul gravel, dirt, debris and other material with dump trucks. Will be required to follow all established safety standards and procedures in the performance of these job duties. Minimum Qualifications Two years of full-time experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled tradesperson; OR completion of an appropriate two- year technical school course at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services, such as the New York State Civil Service Employees Association-Partnership (NYS CSEA-P) Applied Skilled Trades Certificate Program

Applied Skilled Trades Certificate Program includes a total of 288 hours of trade-specific classroom instruction, 45 hours of technical math course work, 45 hours of technical communications course work, and 15 hours of blueprint/schematic reading course work. It does not include 4,000 hours of on-the-job training, as required for the
NYS CSEA-P
Applied Skilled Trades Traineeship. Must obtain a Class B CDL within 12 months of appointment with appropriate endorsements and no airbrake restriction. Additional Comments Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Transportation needs of this position require use of a state vehicle and adhering to the Department's Vehicle Policy. You must have and maintain a valid driver's license for this position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain. Must be able to work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel may be required. Overtime may be required. Overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must obtain a Class B CDL within 12 months of appointment with appropriate endorsements and no air brake restriction. Will be subject to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (OTETA) of 1991, which requires employee testing for drug and alcohol abuse.
