The Bridgeport Port Jefferson Ferry is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Worker (Weekends - 8 Hour Days) to join our team. Duties and responsibilities are outlined below:

Maintenance Worker:

Reports to: The Maintenance Worker in Bridgeport, CT is directly responsible and accountable to the Operations Manager. The Maintenance Worker in Port Jefferson, NY is directly responsible and accountable to the HR / Claims Manager.

Supervises:

None Description of Duties:

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for the building upkeep and cleanliness. Service, clean and supply restroom(s). Gather and empty trash. Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Notify manager concerning the need for major repairs. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

HS diploma or equivalent Must be willing to work weekend, holidays, day/evening shifts as necessary

Physical Requirements:

Work involves considerable stooping, bending, climbing and working in tight spaces. Work involves handling of materiel or chemicals needed for maintenance and repairs; must be able to properly wear personal protective equipment.
