Town of Pound Ridge Job Vacancy Announcement Laborer (Maintenance) The Town of Pound Ridge is seeking to fill one (1) full-time position for a Laborer in the Maintenance Department. This is a Labor class position, so it will not require a civil service examination.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participates in general building maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, repairing minor leaks, and replacing filters;
• Assists in preparing athletic fields for play including cutting grass, lining fields, removing debris, etc.;
• Cleans gutters, drainage culverts and catch basins, removing leaves;
• Cuts and rakes grass and brush, removing and burning same, and plants and maintains trees, shrubs and other plant material;
• Maintains walking paths, driveways, and parking lots of municipal buildings and parks;
• Uses and maintains power equipment such as lawn mowers, leaf blowers, grass trimmers, etc.;
• Spreads topsoil and sodding greens;
• Moves furniture, equipment and materials;
• Operates a truck and other motorized equipment.

Suggested Qualifications:

Some experience in general construction or maintenance work is suggested. The starting hourly rate for this position will be $28.00. The Town of Pound Ridge offers a competitive benefits package.
