Watershed Maintainer

Specific duties include:
Routine Housekeeping, supplement to the contractual janitorial cleaning services. Emptying Trash, vacuuming, moping, wiping down tables, cleaning restrooms, replenishing paper supplies in kitchens/restrooms. Groundskeeping. Utilizing power equipment as required. Snow Removal, Sanding & Salting of sidewalks, around vehicles, paths, etc. Picking up garbage/debris. Facility Tasks, Maintenance, and Repair. General building maintenance, i.e. replacing light bulbs, painting and patching of walls, hanging pictures, repairing wood furniture, installing shelving, etc. Miscellaneous tasks required for the day to day operations of the facility. Tasks include but are not limited to: Setting up/tearing down of training rooms, restocking of supplies (office & janitorial), inspecting fire extinguishers, accepting and distribution of deliveries, inventory of maintenance and janitorial supplies, delivery of bulk mail to post office etc. Performing administrative duties as needed, assisting with the day to day operations of the Sutton Park facility, maintaining copiers and printers, assisting with stockroom and inventory control. Transporting mail and other required materials to and from various facilities throughout the watershed including Lefrak. Assisting with Fleet maintenance, transporting vehicles to shops or vendors for repairs. Assisting staff with vehicle issues as they may arise. (This is a brief description of what you might do in this position and does not include all the duties of this position.) Some of the physical activities performed by Watershed Maintainers and environmental conditions experienced are: lifting objects up to waist height, grasping, squeezing and/or turning objects such as tools and equipment. Pushing and pulling objects such as tools and levers using one or two hands, reaching at a distance up to arm's length, coordinating the movements of hands and feet, and balancing body on foot stools or ladders from 3 to 30 feet in height while standing and working with hands overhead. In order to perform the essential tasks of this position, Watershed Maintainers may be required to: wear protective equipment such as gloves, boots, goggles, earplugs, noise attenuators, face shields, and/or respirators. Work in temperatures ranging from 0 F and 105 F in wetness and varying atmospheric conditions such as high and low humidity. Work in the presence of toxic and/or corrosive chemicals and moving parts of machinery and equipment, and work in restricted spaces for up to 1 hour at a time and on surfaces made of metal gratings, macadam and/or cement.Special Working Conditions:
Watershed Maintainers may be required to work shifts including nights, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.WATERSHED MAINTAINER

Driver License Requirement:
By the time you are appointed to this position, you must have a motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York. This license must be maintained for the duration of your employment. Preferred Skills- A Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York. This license must be maintained for the duration of employment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience in Facility Operations
- Experience in Facility Maintenance
- Experience in Grounds keeping
- Mechanical ability
- Ability to navigate CityTime, a timekeeping application
- Ability to perform physically taxing work
