CHC Addiction Services is a nonprofit organization serving the Akron community. Our mission is to treat, inspire, support, and empower individuals and families impacted by the disease of addiction. Our Facilities team plays an essential role in that mission by creating safe, clean, and welcoming spaces where recovery can happen every day. We're currently hiring for two full-time positions: Maintenance Assistant - Great for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to build experience in facility maintenance. Maintenance Technician - Ideal for someone with experience in building maintenance, repairs, and skilled trades.
Maintenance Assistant Starting Pay:
$17.00/hour If you enjoy staying active, working outdoors, and taking pride in keeping buildings and grounds looking their best, this position is for you.
Responsibilities:
Keep parking lots and outdoor areas clean by removing snow, leaves, trash, and debris. Perform light building maintenance, including changing light bulbs, cleaning windows, minor furniture repairs, and moving office furniture or equipment. Pressure wash buildings, sidewalks, and outdoor spaces. Prepare residential units for new occupants by cleaning, painting, and making apartments move-in ready. Assist with landscaping and seasonal property maintenance. Restock facility supplies and assist with additional maintenance projects as assigned.
Maintenance Technician Starting Pay:
$23.00/hour We're looking for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing, and improving facilities while working both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout CHC buildings and residential properties. Rehab apartments and resident bedrooms as needed. Complete light plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, tile, and flooring repairs. Move furniture and equipment as needed. Assist with custodial duties when necessary. Perform snow removal during winter months. Participate in a paid on-call rotation for maintenance emergencies.
Schedule:
Both positions are full-time with a typical schedule of: Monday-Friday | 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency response may be required depending on projects or facility needs. What We're Looking For Maintenance Assistant High school diploma or equivalent Valid Ohio driver's license with a good driving record Ability to lift and move heavy objects Reliable, dependable, and willing to learn Ability to work independently and as part of a team Maintenance Technician High school diploma or equivalent Experience in industrial, construction, or facility maintenance Working knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, tile, and flooring repair Comfortable using a variety of maintenance tools and equipment Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively Valid Ohio driver's license with a good driving record Why CHC?
