Moraine, OH Job Details Part-time $15.57 - $23.01 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description We are looking for a part-time Building Maintenance Assistant within the Building Maintenance Department. Performs skilled and technical tasks in the maintenance department, repair, and operation of city buildings and recreation facilities. Work involves general repair, painting, and cleaning. The position is often physically demanding and may require work in difficult weather conditions. Maintenance Assistant works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Superintendent/Supervisor and may involve various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Knowledge of electric, plumbing, construction, carpentry, and HVAC is a plus. Must be of good moral character with no disqualifying criminal history. High School diploma or GED and/or any equivalent of four years of experience and training. Pre-employment drug screening and background check is required. All candidates must be willing to submit to random drug screenings. Possess a valid Ohio state driver's license. Summary and Purpose This position performs a variety of skilled and technical tasks in the maintenance, repair, and operation of City buildings and recreation facilities. Work involves all facets of building maintenance including general building repair, painting, and cleaning. Work is performed under general supervision of the Superintendent with some latitude for discretion and independent judgment. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Properly and safely use equipment and tools, and ensure a safe work environment. 2. Inspect and maintain assigned equipment and tools, as well as the necessary supplies. 3. Verify progress and/or completion of work performed by division employees and outside contractors. Prepare written and oral reports on maintenance activities. 4. Drive City vehicles such as cars, trucks, and carts. 5. Assist in setting up and taking down equipment for park and recreation programs, and prepare facilities for recreational use. 6. Collect and dispose of solid waste from buildings and grounds. 7. Open and close (lock and unlock) buildings and facilities as necessary. 8. Maintain current skills, knowledge, and certifications for the safe and effective maintenance of City buildings and facilities. 9. Maintain regular and timely attendance. 10. Perform other duties as required.
