Position Summary Under general supervision performs a wide variety of maintenance and mechanical preventative and repair tasks as assigned. Responsibilities Under general supervision performs a wide variety of maintenance and mechanical preventative and repair tasks as assigned. Install and maintain communication and data lines and related equipment. Maintain fire extinguishers, fire alarm boxes, smoke detectors, sprinkler system, etc. and keep appropriate records. Assist with snow removal and grounds care as needed. Assist other maintenance personnel in performing preventative maintenance, major repairs in the Health System and its equipment, or the installation of new equipment. Requirements HS Diploma or GED required Read, write and follow oral and/or written instructions and dexterity to use standard hand and power tools. Work requires between one and two years of general maintenance experience. Use independent judgment in determining equipment problems and method of repair. Work requires responsibility for materials and equipment. Probable cost in case of improper or careless handling of materials and/or equipment would be moderate. Work requires the use of considerable care in using tools and/or performing tasks normally regarded to be dangerous to ensure the safety and protection of others. LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
