Maintenance Worker

The Orange City Schools is seeking an outstanding candidate for a position in our Maintenance Department to perform a variety of highly skilled maintenance functions involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, swimming pool and/or mechanical maintenance inside and outside, in various types of weather on assigned district facilities, buildings and grounds.

Qualifications include a knowledge of:

• Electrician and HVAC Experience Required
• Knowledge of methods, practices, and materials used in electrical, plumbing, heating/air conditioning
• Applicable provisions of building, electrical, and plumbing codes
• Occupational hazards and safe work practices of the building maintenance trades Qualifications include an ability to:
• Make repairs and adjustments to plumbing equipment, and a variety of motorized and mechanical equipment such as chillers, boilers, generators, motors, pumps and valves, blowers, fans, variable frequency drives, and refrigeration systems
• Recognize and locate conditions which require maintenance and repair work. Read blueprints, plans and construction drawings
• Safely and skillfully operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, trucks and lifts
• Receive work orders and determine necessary tools, materials, and equipment needed to complete assignments
• Maintain accurate records for preventative maintenance
• Understand building electrical systems
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others
• Effectively communicate both orally and in writing

$27.20 - $33.02 per hour
