Job Description

The Lincoln County Facilities team is looking for someone to add to the crew as a Facilities Technician 1 . This person will perform basic maintenance services, repairs and replacements to County facilities, furnishings, equipment, and grounds including work in the Lincoln County Jail, Juvenile Detention, with emphasis on Lincoln County Health and Human Services (HHS) Department medical facilities. $25.32 - $26.86 per hour•Lincoln County follows Oregon Pay Equity laws in reviewing education and experience for wage offer. Lincoln County offers a comprehensive benefits package including: Medical, Dental, & Vision Coverage 11% County contribution to 401(k) County funded Health Savings Account (HSA) $40,000 County Paid Life Insurance Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) May act as the primary contact for all County personnel for any building issues including climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies, and repairs: Monitor and replace light bulbs in all assigned facilities, as needed. Make minor plumbing repairs, as necessary. Coordinate and assist with departmental and employee moves. Perform basic electrical work; determine when an electrician is required. Hang pictures and shelving, as needed. Dismantle and install furniture. Transport goods or equipment as assigned. Perform other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor. Perform immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain clean facility. Act as crew leader or designee at direction of Facilities Supervisor. Provide logistical assistance for projects and facilities. Monitor contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications. Assist with maintaining building security equipment and immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis: Participate in the on-call rotation which may require working holidays and weekends. Responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments: This includes preparation of outgoing packages, return shipments and receipt of County related deliveries (i.e. supplies, purchases, equipment). This may also require managing large, possibly heavy parcels. Incoming shipments are to be confirmed upon receipt, and delivery.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma / GED plus up to 1 year applied training.
EXPERIENCE
Two- Three years in commercial, government, industrial building, or physical plant maintenance with vocational and or on the job training in a variety of maintenance fields. Driver's License Oregon Driver's License required within 30 days of hire.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in industrial instrumentation, automation, low voltage, or radio communications.
Knowledge of / Ability to:
Basic skills and knowledge in building trades including plumbing, mechanical and carpentry. Security and detention maintenance. Policies and procedures as it pertain to safety and security of various types of facilities including jails. Work independently and from set priorities. Work with vendors to learn operations, troubleshooting and maintenance of individual systems and equipment. Operate a variety of hand and power equipment safely. •Due to the sensitive areas in which work is conducted, must be able to pass extensive background checks and drug screening.•
