A Maintenance Helper or Assistant assists maintenance mechanics. Repairs and maintains equipment and machines, such as cars or heating systems. May assemble or adjust machines as directed by a head mechanic.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in keeping our residents' home clean, safe, functional, and welcoming.
Responsibilities:
Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, offices, dining areas, hallways, and common spaces. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, remove trash, make beds, and assist with laundry. Prepare and deep-clean rooms for new resident move-ins. Perform basic maintenance, including replacing light bulbs, batteries, filters, toilet seats, door hardware, and other minor items. Assist with minor painting, wall patching, furniture assembly, and room repairs. Check resident rooms and common areas for leaks, damaged fixtures, loose handrails, trip hazards, plumbing concerns, and other safety issues. Assist with preventive-maintenance inspections and documentation. Help move furniture, equipment, supplies, and resident belongings safely. Maintain entrances and grounds by removing litter, sweeping walkways, and assisting with seasonal tasks. Inspect and organize maintenance rooms, housekeeping closets, tools, and supplies. Report electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire-safety, pest-control, and equipment concerns to the Director of Environmental Services. Complete cleaning, maintenance, room-turnover, and safety checklists. Follow infection-control, chemical-safety, PPE, and emergency procedures. Respect residents' dignity, privacy, belongings, and confidentiality. Qualifications Housekeeping, maintenance, healthcare, or EVS experience is required. Basic knowledge of hand tools and minor repairs is preferred. Must be dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions. Must work safely both independently and as part of a team. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb a step ladder, push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds. Weekend, holiday, and occasional emergency availability may be required.
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
