POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for repair and maintenance of equipment, furnishings, and buildings.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High school and Vocational Technical training in carpentry; electrical, electronics, or plumbing trades with above average performance or equivalent.
Experience:
One year's full time non-concurrent experience in any two of the following or two years in general maintenance defined as the building trades of plumbing, electrical, electronics, refrigeration or heating.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Exhibits good cooperation with management and maintenance department, such as a positive response to applicable improvement issues found in performance reviews or elsewhere; a positive response to instructions or work assignments; a positive approach to improving work skills, communications and productivity.
License/Certification/Registration:
Within one year of hire/transfer, successfully completes, The American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), NFPA-99, "Healthcare Facilities Code", Certificate of Attendance
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives direct supervision from the Facility Supervisor.
SUPERVISION GIVEN
None 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Repairs and services electrical and mechanical equipment. Repairs piping and heating equipment including heat and water systems. Repairs Medical Center equipment. Cleans and services heating and air conditioning equipment. Repairs light fixtures and changes light bulbs. Repairs and maintains Medical Center furniture including beds, tables, stands, chairs, etc. Repairs and services call systems for patient rooms and nurse's stations. Operates Boiler Room when the schedule requires. Assists with the installation or movement of equipment or renovations. Performs tasks such as but not limited to: snow removal; grounds care; painting; cleaning; etc. when necessary. Participates when necessary in the process of equipment/building alterations or renovations. Participates in the call duties for non-regular working hours. Performs preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
