Job Description

School Custodian Our Mission We believe every student deserves to learn in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Our school is more than just a building—it's a community hub where young minds grow, friendships form, and futures are shaped. By keeping our facilities spotless, safe, and well-maintained, you'll be directly contributing to the health, comfort, and pride of our students, staff, and visitors. The Impact You'll Make As our School Custodian, you'll be the behind-the-scenes hero who ensures classrooms shine, hallways are hazard-free, and every space is ready for learning. Your work will help create an environment where students can focus, teachers can teach, and everyone feels valued and cared for. What You'll Do Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas to a high standard. Carry out light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, and reporting repair needs. Ensure floors are swept, mopped, vacuumed, and polished as needed. Maintain restroom hygiene by restocking supplies and sanitizing surfaces. Assist with setting up and breaking down spaces for school events and activities. Monitor and report any safety hazards or maintenance issues promptly. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and pressure washers safely and effectively. Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines to maintain a safe school environment. Experience in cleaning, janitorial, or maintenance work (school or institutional setting preferred). Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safe handling, and equipment operation. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. A proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented approach to work. Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset. Commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for children. Why You'll Love It Here A supportive, friendly team that values your contribution. Consistent schedule with evenings, weekends, and school holidays off (depending on role).
