Yes, based on skills, reliability, performance, and time with the company Position Overview We are seeking a dependable, professional, and hands-on Building Maintenance Assistant / Unarmed Security Officer to join our onsite team. This is a hybrid position that combines building maintenance responsibilities with front-desk and security duties. The successful candidate will work closely with the Building Maintenance Manager , assisting with day-to-day maintenance tasks, building operations, safety, and repairs while also providing a professional security presence throughout the property. We are looking for someone who is independent and highly dependable , but who can also follow direction, communicate effectively, and work well under the Building Maintenance Manager. Maintenance Responsibilities Assist the Building Maintenance Manager with daily building maintenance and operational tasks. Perform basic maintenance, repairs, adjustments, and troubleshooting as directed. Read and monitor meters, gauges, and equipment readings. Identify unusual readings or equipment conditions and report concerns promptly. Safely operate hand tools and electric/power tools. Assist with preventive maintenance and general upkeep of the building. Follow basic building and fire-safety requirements. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Assist with various maintenance projects and other duties as assigned. Be willing and able to learn new equipment, systems, procedures, and maintenance skills. Security & Front Desk Responsibilities Maintain a professional and visible security presence throughout the building. Staff and assist at the front desk as needed. Greet visitors and assist people with finding the appropriate offices, departments, or areas of the building. Know who to contact regarding building questions, tenant concerns, emergencies, and other issues. Monitor building access and address unauthorized or unwanted individuals appropriately. Enforce building parking policies and procedures. Write clear, accurate, and detailed incident and activity reports. Observe and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or building issues. Assist with emergency situations and follow established building procedures. Communicate professionally with tenants, visitors, contractors, and building management. Maintain a clean, professional, and approachable appearance at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements Required:
At least 3 years of building maintenance experience . At least 2 years of security experience . Experience reading meters, gauges, or equipment readings. Knowledge of basic building and fire-safety codes/procedures. Ability to safely use hand tools and electric/power tools. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Ability to write detailed and professional reports. Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to take direction and work effectively under the Building Maintenance Manager. Must be dependable, punctual, and reliable. Must be willing and able to learn new skills and procedures. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position . The successful candidate must be able to: Lift and carry at least 50 pounds . Walk for extended periods during the workday. Regularly climb stairs. Frequently bend, stoop, reach, and perform other physical maintenance activities. Remain active and attentive throughout the shift. Safely perform maintenance and security duties as required.
