Grounds/Small Engine Repair / Maintenance Worker 260-day position
Salary:
$16.69 / hour base salary

Immediately •A negative TB test must be on file prior to starting work
Qualifications:
High School diploma or high school equivalent Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License Vocational/Technical school training in small engine repair, and one to two years of experience in grounds and general maintenance (or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities) Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsible To:
Director of Operations Job Goal:
Performs routine road and grounds maintenance on district properties and small engine repair on tractors and lawn mowers and related equipment as required. Performs tasks such as maintaining athletic fields, cutting grass, operating tractor equipment, etc.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain neat appearance, courteous conduct, and work amicably with all school and maintenance personnel Maintain the district grounds/fields (involves cutting grass, fertilizing and watering grass, removing debris, etc.) Perform various grounds keeping duties such as cutting grass, planting shrubs, seeding/fertilizing and watering grounds, rolling sod, cutting and removing trees and debris, etc. Maintain and make repairs to small engine equipment Provide assistance in other maintenance areas as assigned which involves repair and maintenance of district roads and general maintenance Operate various equipment (such as backhoes, disc harrow, lawn tractor, fork lift, tiller, saws, mowers, etc.) Coordinate and supervise the work of others as assigned Participate in additional training provided by the Board of Education related to scope of employment Perform other related duties as required as well as other duties as assigned A complete application packet must be submitted through the online application system prior to the closing date in order to be considered for this position.
