Job Description
Works with the Resident Maintenance Engineer on major projects. Assists with planning, organizing, supervising and inspecting. Investigates complaints. Assist with the implementation of the county's emergency plan for hazardous weather and other emergencies. Supervises foremen and/or crews in various maintenance activities Investigates, and/or recommend corrective actions in connection with damage to SCDOT or private property, which are complex in nature. Communicates with local officials, administrators and general public on field complaints as directed by Resident Maintenance Engineer and Assistant Resident Maintenance Engineer. Conducts monthly foreman meeting and other meetings in conjunction with the Resident Maintenance Engineer. Monitors equipment utilization and redistributes equipment as needed to maximize utilization for unit. Supervises crews in general repairs and upkeep of building and grounds in addition to addressing environmental deficiencies with assistance from any available crews. Reviews and/or maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports, time sheets and cost records; recommends personnel actions including promotions, transfers, and disciplinary measures; rates employees yearly according to the Employee Performance Management System. Performs other related job duties as directed by supervisor, including on call for after hour emergencies. Five (5) years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
