Job Description

MAINTENANCE WORKER/ELECTRICIAN- STREET DEPARTMENT CITY OF CROSSVILLE
Regular hours of operation are Monday-Thursday, 6:00AM-4:30PM Starting annual salary is $40,684.80/$19.56 per hour. Employees are eligible for 5% salary increase at the conclusion of a satisfactory six (6) month probationary period. The job of Street Maintenance Worker is a full-time position that includes a full benefits package. Benefits include health, vision, dental, life insurance, retirement, paid holidays and paid personal leave. The City offers TCRS's (Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System) Hybrid plan as the retirement benefit.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Operates a bucket truck or aerial lift in routine maintenance, repair and construction of traffic signals. Performs electrical wiring of City projects including streetlights and traffic signals. Performs trouble shooting and repair of electrical equipment controlling traffic signals. Operates and installs computer aided traffic counters for obtaining traffic study data. Formats, assembles and installs a variety of street signs. Works as part of a crew to install, repair and maintain all aspects of City streets, sidewalks, storm drains, catch basins and right of ways. Uses a variety of trucks, small machinery, hand tools and power tools. Performs flagging duties for traffic control when work is being conducted. Performs minor maintenance and cleaning of facilities, trucks and equipment.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, or equivalent. L.L.E. (Limited Licensed Electrician) is required 3 years of relative experience is highly preferred Requires IMSA (International Municipal Signal Association) Certification within first year of employment.
