Job Description

Why This Role is Valuable The purpose of this position is to preserve park lands by maintaining parks, medians and athletic fields. This is accomplished by operating necessary equipment and removing trash and debris. Other duties may include performing preventative maintenance on and repairing equipment, assisting in coordination and preparation of special and seasonal events, some leadership responsibilities and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position does may provide direction to other employees.
Salary Pay rate:
$17.85/hour Education pay available, up to $1,200/year! Bilingual (English/Spanish) pay, $600/year! This position will generally work Monday - Friday, based on departmental needs, including after-hours and special events, as needed. How You Add Value Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by responding to requests in a timely and professional manner. Maintains cleanliness of grounds by removing trash and debris from parks, medians, and Right of Ways. Performs landscaping activities by operating various pieces of equipment, including mowers, back hoes and other landscaping tools, planting and trimming shrubs, trees and flowers and maintaining athletic fields. Maintains equipment by performing preventative maintenance on park and lawn equipment on a regular basis, cleaning equipment and making repairs. Assists with special events by coordinating tasks and assisting with seasonal decorations. Regular attendance required. What You Bring to the Role Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines. One year of related experience preferred. Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays may be required. Mandatory overtime may be required.
