Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities maintenance and have hands-on experience with various maintenance tasks. This role involves supporting the maintenance team in ensuring the functionality and safety of all equipment and facilities. The Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for performing repairs, conducting routine inspections, and assisting with various projects to maintain a high standard of operational efficiency. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal performance. Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for equipment monitoring and control. Conduct welding tasks as needed for repairs or modifications. Read and interpret schematics to assist in diagnosing problems. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Support residential painting projects to enhance facility aesthetics. Provide excellent customer service when interacting with staff and vendors. Supervise junior maintenance staff or contractors as required, providing guidance and leadership. Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform repairs on various systems. Electrical experience is essential, including familiarity with using an ohmmeter for diagnostics. Ability to read and understand technical schematics and manuals. Welding skills are a plus, contributing to repair capabilities. Previous supervisory experience is beneficial for leading small teams or projects. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are required for effective collaboration. Customer service orientation to ensure positive interactions with all stakeholders. Familiarity with manufacturing environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
