Description:
 To perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance and repair of Golf and Airport grounds and facilities. This is the entry-level class in the Maintenance Worker series. Performs routine tasks and duties assigned under close supervision. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or no directly related work experience. Examples of Duties
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:
Wash and clean sidewalks at golf facilities. Repair and maintain all restroom facilities; use various chemicals to sanitize restroom facilities. Participate in landscaping areas; mow and trim lawns; trim vegetation; apply herbicides and pesticides. Participate in chipping wood; collect fallen limbs in golf areas. Repair and maintain all equipment assigned to Division.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Operation and use of a variety of tools and equipment.
Ability to:
Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Learn proper lifting techniques for minimizing physical injury. Learn the operation of a variety of tools, machinery and equipment relevant to work assignments. Perform physical requirements of the job. Perform work in undesirable conditions including inclement weather. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Experience and Training Guidelines:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
