$16-$18 hourly Galveston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team. In this role, you'll work alongside the Maintenance Supervisor to help maintain the safety, function, and overall condition of our facility. From preventative maintenance and repairs to ongoing facility improvements, you'll have an important role in maintaining the environment our residents call home and ensuring our building is ready to support the people who depend on it each day. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can troubleshoot day-to-day maintenance needs, and understand the importance of keeping a resident-focused facility safe and well maintained. What You'll Do Complete repairs and general maintenance throughout the facility Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and routine inspections Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely manner Assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs Prepare resident rooms for admissions and room changes Identify and address safety, equipment, and building concerns Support fire and life-safety inspections, drills, and maintenance requirements Assist with facility projects, vendors, contractors, and unexpected maintenance needs What We're Looking For Previous maintenance, facilities, or general repair experience preferred Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and building maintenance Ability to safely operate common hand and power tools Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Dependable and able to prioritize multiple maintenance needs Strong attention to safety and detail Professional and respectful when working around residents, families, visitors, and staff Previous healthcare or senior living experience is a plus, but not required Why Galveston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center?
