Primary Purpose:

Ensure that the department is running in a smooth and efficient manner.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Routinely monitor and inspections of the freezers, refrigerators and boilers; must notify Supervisor of any changes.

2.

Report any irregularities:

such as fire hazards, leaking pipes, equipment, and machinery failures.

3. Assist in installing new equipment, and ability to fix when necessary.

4. Assist in repairing major equipment, boilers, tray washer, porter washer, etc.

5. Assist Supervisor in any emergencies during weekends and/or holidays.

6. Assist with minor repairs on vehicles, installing parts, and checking vehicles for any services needed; water, oil, coolant, gasoline, etc.

7. Submit a written report to Supervisor for any major jobs that need immediate attention for approval from the Director.

8. Responsible for servicing school equipment at the cafeterias. Must check equipment on a daily basis for proper working conditions at all times.

9. Assist in all welding jobs performed at the Child Nutrition Program premises by personnel from the Divisions of Operations.

10. Responsible for checking on a daily basis preferably at the end of the day the baking area, insure that doors are locked and that all ovens are properly turned off.

11. Responsible for reporting time departing, destination, and arrival time when leaving the building; must report the arrival time when assigned to another campus site.

12. Responsible for the proper care of all equipment used or assigned to the Maintenance Department.

13. Responsible for checking doors, windows, and gates making sure that they are securely locked.

14. Responsible for reporting on the job injuries to immediate Supervisor.

15. Must follow necessary precaution when handling chemicals.

Must maintain required standards of:

• clean and neat at all times.

• clean uniform provided by LISD must be worn daily with safety belt and safety shoes.

17. Responsible for carrying Driver's License at all times as is required by State Law and a. responsible for submitting renewed Driver's License to Supervisor.

18. Demonstrate a constructive and cooperative attitude toward assigned duties.

19. Must participate in planned in-service training sessions and relevant workshops.

20. Perform such other duties as may be assigned. 21. Must recognize the responsibility of being dependable in attendance, punctuality, and in the use of time properly.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma, or GED from a school recognized by the Texas Education Agency/Texas Private School Accreditation Commission OR
  
• Eighth grade education and four years related experience
