$17.00 hourly (end-of-season incentive pay, plus rehires get a .25 increase each year)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Riverton City is seeking Seasonal Maintenance Workers in the Parks, Water, and Streets divisions in the Public Works Department.
These positions offer flexible schedules:
up to 20 hours per week for up to 12 months, or up to 40 hours per week for up to 5.5 months. Schedules can be arranged around school classes. Seasonal Maintenance Workers are responsible for upkeep and maintenance of City parks, park strips, the cemetery, recreation facilities, and other City properties. Please note, these are non-benefited positions.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
(These examples are not all-inclusive) Routine maintenance and cleaning of park facilities Routine cleaning of park restrooms Repair and maintenance of equipment Seasonal repairs and maintenance of irrigation systems Seasonal snow plowing and snow shoveling Seasonal weed abatement on city properties Seasonal assistants with water flushing Any other responsibilities that would be required to maintain effective operations of the department
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to follow oral and written instructions Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other employees Ability to perform manual labor Ability and willingness to work outside in various environmental exposures
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test, a background screen (if 18 years of age or older), provide a current copy of their driving record, pass a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE), be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and complete Form I-9 employment eligibility verification.
