Closing Date:
July 20, 2026 The City of Falls Church, VA is recruiting for a Maintenance Worker in the Recreation and Parks Department. This is full-time work, including setting up and breaking down of daily classes and events, maintaining the community center to include general daily custodial duties; perform scheduled routine maintenance to include carpet cleaning, floor waxing, etc. This position will also assist Park crews during snow removal and special events.
Requirements:
Must report to work in and wear steel-toed safety shoes of an acceptable standard at all times on the job, effective first scheduled workday Must be available to work weekends and overtime as well as respond to emergency situations Experience in maintenance work preferred, especially in the areas outlined above Ability to work outdoors for extended periods under all weather conditions, to include extremely hot summer weather as well as perform snow and ice removal during winter. Valid Driver's License in state of residency with a good driving record Satisfactory pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check
Hours:
12 PM to 8:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with ability to work weekends, holidays and special events. Adjusted schedule select evenings to cover concerts in the park and movies in the park.
Salary or Salary & Benefits:
$50,000 annually plus a $200 safety shoe allowance.
