Non-Exempt Summary:
Performs a variety of maintenance and repair work to the physical structure of the school building.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintains and upkeeps property located throughout the school and school campus. Uses various hand tools in performing the assigned tasks. Replaces air condition filters and light bulbs as needed. Paints walls, floors, woodwork and fixtures, using appropriate materials and tools. Maintains a safe and clean work area. Attends in-service training programs and meetings as designed by the supervisor. Reports all accidents and/or potential hazards to the Supervisor of Maintenance immediately, or as soon as reasonably possible Follows proper procedure regarding the storage and cleaning of equipment. Complies with school division regulations and policies. Electrical experience preferred

EXPERIENCE
Graduate from an accredited high school or General Education Certificate (GED).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to follow oral and written directions. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relations with supervisor, co-workers, administrators, and school and community members.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Must have a valid driver's license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent walking, standing, lifting, up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to 75 pounds may be required. The environment also exposes the employee to potentially hazardous substances. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word level. The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, noise and hazards ability to adjust focus.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve-month employment.
Salary Range:
$35,329 to $54,760 EVALUATION Performance of the position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Prince Edward County School Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
