Announcement number 13042499 Control number 882594200 This job is open to Help The public U.S. Citizens, Nionals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Duties Help Responsible for carrying out maintenance, repair and renovion projects and new construction as assigned within the Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Morale, Welfare and Recreion Department. Includes minor to major repairs, renovions and special projects for over 200 buildings all sites, including Naval Support Activity Norfolk, Naval Stion Norfolk, NAB Little Creek, NAS Oceana and Dam Neck Annex, Weapons Stion Yorktown and Cheham Annex, and Norfolk Navy Shipyard. Responsible for implemention of repairs and renovions from planning stages throughout finished work. Manages an assigned workforce crew to meet specific jobs needs. Crew is assigned on a roting basis, and may consist of electricians, maintenance mechanics for carpentry, heing, air conditioning, plumbing etc., and laborers. Manages all facets of either particular sections of a job, or full jobs from planning to full implemention. Provides rough estimes of project costs, personnel, equipment and merials needed to complete assigned tasks. Provides cost and time estimes. Determines correct merials to be used and submits recommendions. Conveys and explains ideas, concepts, and drawings from the N94 Facilities Director to the workforce crew. Responsible for up to $200,000.00 in equipment, vehicles and tools, and responsible for the procurement of over $150,000.00 in building merials and tools annually. Prepares purchase requests and ensures approprie procurement procedures. Ensures delivery of goods to site, quality of goods, and ensures proper inspection and acceptance. Assures th procedures are adhered to and th all approprie codes are followed. Responsible for internal review to -ascertain compliance with standards, operor procedures and objectives relive to money, merchandise and other assets for each assigned project or phase. A qualified candide possesses the following: Certifice or license in least one of the major trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.) is strongly preferred, but may be substituted by a minimum of 2 years of general trades experience with a minimum of one year of c documented specialized training and/or experience in a combinion of trades listed above. A minimum of two years supervisory experience is required. Prior Navy, MWR or military experience preferred. Must possess documented experience in efficient management of personnel and resources for renovion/ repair projects, preferably including MWR or other military non-appropried fund operions, the ability to read and interpret blueprints and drafting's accurely, and the ability to communice effectively verbally and in writing. Must be able to appraise various program elements, evalue and effect/ recommend improvement to best achieve goals. Must display the ability to adjust work operions to meet urgent or changing situions. This position requires travel to other bases within the CNRMA region or CNIC enterprise. Travel could be up to 50% of the time depending on projects and workload. Educion This position does not have a positive educion requirement.
