Job Purpose This position plays a vital role in promoting and embodying the mission, vision, and values of YUGM. This role assists in all aspects of Thrift and YUGM facility maintenance and projects to ensure timely and efficient handling of projects, facilities tickets and tasks in support of YUGM mission, vision, and values. Duties and Responsibilities Cultural and Ministerial Responsibilities Uphold and promote YUGM's Christian beliefs and behaviors, core values, policies, and procedures with a high-level of integrity. Develop professional, caring, strength-based relationships built on truth, respect, encouragement, and trust. Provide ministry and show kindness and grace to staff, volunteers, clients, donors, and the community. Support initiatives that foster a culture of services, compassion, and faith within the workplace. Engage opportunities to pray for individuals, departments, strategic plans and other YUGM needs. Functional Responsibilities Team Work Able to communicate well with others including guests, donors, staff, and volunteers Work well in a collaborative, team environment, and with volunteers. Direct Work Assist maintenance manager in daily review, prioritizing, and completion of daily Thrift maintenance tickets and YUGM maintenance tickets when available. Complete with accuracy and efficiency direct work assignments as determined by the maintenance manager. Maintain a tidy, clean, and safe shop and workspace/environment, following all necessary safety measures as each task dictates. Work as a self-starter and perform all required tasks as needed or requested by your manager Operate machinery, such as but not limited to forklifts, pallet jacks, tractors and floor polishers, as needed. Additional Responsibilities Attend, as requested or required, all YUGM trainings and meetings scheduled by the management team to keep current on any policy changes, new procedures, and other information essential to performing the job.?? Other duties as assigned in support of YUGM's mission and values.
Requirements:
Qualifications Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Two plus years of related experience with construction and maintenance practices, principals, and applicable codes. Fundamental computer skills for input of job details in ticketing system and online ordering and research. Functional organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality when needed. Able to work independently under the pressure of deadlines, interruption, and changing priorities while maintaining a strong attention to detail. Current Washington State Driver's License and safe driving record. Demonstrated work ethic aligned with YUGM's Core Values of Love, Professionalism, and Outcomes.
Proficiencies:
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, independently or as part of a team. Ability to work alongside volunteers, programmers, and clients representing a variety of backgrounds - cultural, economic, and those in addiction recovery. Strong interpersonal skills and professional conduct. Commitment to YUGM's Core Values of Love, Professionalism, and Outcomes.
Working Conditions:
Primary duties of this position are in a well-lit, temperature-controlled environment. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate with occasional loud noises, including the operation of electric and gas-powered tools. Outdoor work and work in inclement weather, and irregular work hours will be required.
Physical Requirements:
Visual and auditory abilities to effectively perform job tasks. Clear and fluent communication in English. Capable of walking, climbing stairs, balancing, bending, reaching, and using hands for tasks. Ability to lift items weighing up to 75 lbs., with proper lifting techniques.
