Mechanic III / Shop Foreman Fairbanks, AK | Full-Time | Permanent Keep Alaska Moving with Colville Transport Colville, Inc. is hiring a skilled Mechanic III / Shop Foreman to lead our Fairbanks shop. If you are an experienced diesel or heavy equipment mechanic who takes pride in quality work, enjoys mentoring others, and wants to stay local in a non-rotational position, we want to hear from you. What You Will Do Perform advanced diagnostics and major repairs on light- and heavy-duty trucks and equipment Complete preventative maintenance and DOT annual inspections Troubleshoot engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, and steering systems Rebuild engines, transmissions, and differentials Use diagnostic software such as Cat ET, Cummins Insight, Davies, and ESA Support daily shop workflow, quality control, and documentation Mentor mechanics and shop personnel Assist with fabrication and welding as needed Maintain safe and organized shop operations Perform other related duties as assigned to support business operations What You Bring 5 or more years of diesel or heavy equipment mechanic experience Proven leadership or mentoring experience in a shop environment Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record Ability to work extended hours when needed Ability to perform physically demanding work Preferred Qualifications Commercial Driver's License (CDL) ASE Certifications or diesel technology training Experience with Class 8 trucks and mixed fleets Leadership or management experience Pre-Employment Requirements Background check Pre-employment drug test Driving record review Pre-employment physical examination Why Colville Permanent Fairbanks-based position Leadership opportunity Work with a well-maintained fleet Be part of a company that values safety, teamwork, and craftsmanship Colville is an equal opportunity employer.
