Posted 06/2026 Job Description Job Summary M1 is looking for a Quality Manager for Air Force Program with the following knowledge and experience:Position Description:
- Manages/implements the QMS for USAF Helicopter Maintenance contract at Ft. Rucker IAW IAW the PWS, applicable AFIs, and company policy.
- Develops and sustains a culture of safety, quality compliance, and professionalism.
- Ensures 100 safe, on time, properly configured, reliable aircraft to perform missions in accordance with the PWS.
- Ensures compliance with directives, technical orders, local procedures, safety procedures, and company policies relating to aircraft maintenance operations and quality IAW AFI21-101 and the PWS..
- Ensures sufficient manpower, technical data, tools and equipment are available for planned work and shift coverage.
- Manages and Directs the Quality Team to ensure PWS Quality metrics are met; recommends corrective actions.
- Applies Company policy and procedures pertaining to the promotion, training, discipline, and termination of employees.
- Ensures employees possess the qualifications and certifications necessary to perform their jobs.
- Oversees the quality of maintenance accomplished and performs necessary functions to fulfill PWS requirements.
- Serves as primary technical advisory in the maintenance organization, assisting maintenance supervision at all levels to identify, validate and/or resolve quality, proficiency and/or compliance issues impacting mission generation.
- Evaluates and analyzes deficiencies and identifies problem areas.
- Highlights and reveals underlying root causes of poor quality in the maintenance production effort.
- Delivers technical advice for maintenance actions and assist work center supervisors in supporting the maintenance effort.
- Observes, corrects and documents applicable maintenance activities performed within the Air Force Program.
- Drafts, reviews, and validates local procedures and policy.
- Applies and enforces Air Force Instructions, as they pertain to the PWS.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Assists with company business development efforts. In addition, the candidate should possess the following requirements:
- Minimum 12 years USAF aircraft maintenance experience. 3 years USAF aviation quality. Helicopter experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills with ability to manage conflict and apply conflict resolution.
ISO 9001/AS9100/9110
Auditor certification preferred; knowledge of quality management system requirements, safety standards and general experience in dealing with environmental issues related to USAF Maintenance and Operations.- Bachelor Degree in related field. However, extensive work experience may substitute.
- Able to obtain/maintain security clearance as required by PWS.
- Comprehensive understanding of aircraft maintenance and quality control procedures in a USAF aviation environment.
- Must possess competent computer skills.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Must be able to moves about both inside aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within close proximity of running equipment and aircraft.
- Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non- confrontational attitude.
