Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Hotel Chief Engineer to lead our facilities maintenance and engineering operations. Duties Lead and supervise the facilities maintenance team, managing daily operations, scheduling, and performance to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks. Oversee the repair, inspection, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems such as HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning), electrical systems—including high voltage and low voltage wiring—and plumbing infrastructure. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to maximize equipment lifespan and minimize downtime. Ensure compliance with safety regulations including OSHA standards by conducting safety audits, maintaining proper documentation, and enforcing safety procedures across all maintenance activities. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical/mechanical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately and execute repairs efficiently. Manage facilities maintenance projects from planning through execution while adhering to budgetary constraints and project timelines. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and safety compliance using Microsoft Office tools and CMMS software. Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or installations involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HVAC systems, electrical systems, or industrial equipment. Monitor high voltage systems with appropriate testing tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to ensure electrical safety and operational integrity. Uphold high standards of quality control by following established maintenance repair procedures while fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Requirements Proven management experience supervising facilities maintenance teams in a hospitality or manufacturing environment. Extensive mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing HVAC systems, electrical wiring—including high voltage—and plumbing systems. Strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices, engineering troubleshooting techniques, schematics interpretation, and safety regulations such as OSHA standards. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes. Experience operating CMMS platforms for work order management and preventive maintenance scheduling. Ability to read technical schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams accurately; familiarity with PLCs is a plus. Knowledge of electrical systems including low voltage wiring; ability to use testing tools like voltmeters and ohmmeters confidently. Excellent leadership skills with a track record of managing facilities maintenance teams effectively while promoting safety awareness. Strong project management capabilities to oversee multiple ongoing projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.
