We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Director of Maintenance who knows how to solve problems, lead a team, stay ahead of repairs, and take genuine pride in the building they oversee. What You'll Do As our Director of Maintenance, you'll oversee the day-to-day operation of the Maintenance Department and help ensure our facility remains safe, functional, attractive, and compliant.
Responsibilities include:
Lead and oversee the facility's Maintenance Department Perform and coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections Maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems Monitor boilers, compressors, generators, and other facility equipment Regularly inspect resident rooms, common areas, equipment, and facility grounds Identify safety concerns and make sure repairs are completed promptly Coordinate equipment installation, renovations, repairs, and construction projects Maintain appropriate maintenance records, supplies, tools, and equipment Ensure the facility meets applicable building codes, safety requirements, and federal, state, and local regulations Work closely with the Administrator and other department leaders Supervise, organize, and support maintenance personnel Respond appropriately when unexpected maintenance or safety issues arise What We're Looking For This is a leadership position for someone who understands that good maintenance requires planning, prevention, problem-solving, and follow-through .
Qualified candidates should have:
Previous supervisory experience in maintenance, plant operations, facilities management, or a related position Hands-on knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems Experience with boilers, compressors, generators, and related equipment Ability to read and interpret blueprints Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations Understanding of preventive maintenance practices and procedures Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities Leadership skills and the ability to effectively supervise and work alongside others Ability to make sound independent decisions when circumstances require it Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience in long-term care, healthcare, senior living, or a regulated environment is a plus Any licenses or certifications required by applicable codes and regulations The Person We're Looking For You don't just wait for something to break.
