Job Description
Description The Facility Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of facility operations across Mississippi County Hospital System, including the Great River Medical Center and South Mississippi County Regional Medical Center. This position oversees building maintenance, utilities, grounds, environmental safety, security operations, contractor coordination, and facility regulatory compliance. Working under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the Facility Supervisor ensures a safe, reliable, and efficient physical environment that supports high-quality patient care, operational continuity, and compliance with federal, state, and accreditation requirements. The Facility Supervisor provides direct supervision of facility and security staff while promoting customer service, accountability, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement. Requirements Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree in Facilities Management, Industrial Maintenance, Business Management or related field, preferred
- Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and supervisory experience may be considered
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare facilities, commercial maintenance, construction, or plant operations.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, medical gas support systems, fire protection, and utility infrastructure.
- Ability to supervise maintenance personnel, security personnel, vendors, and contractors.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects while responding to facility emergencies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care (EC), Life Safety (LS), Emergency Management (EM), CMS Conditions of Participation, OSHA, NFPA, and applicable state regulations preferred Certifications
- Valid driver's license required.
- Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) preferred.
- FEMA Incident Command System (ICS 100, 200, and 700) certification required within one year of hire.
- OSHA Safety Training preferred.
