Full-Time | Direct Hire Job Overview We are hiring a Service Lead to oversee PM-shift service operations supporting autonomous vehicle and robotics fleets across the Greater Phoenix area. This role is responsible for leading service technicians, maximizing fleet uptime, improving technician performance, and ensuring maintenance and repair operations run smoothly across multiple sites. The ideal candidate has strong leadership experience in service or technical operations along with a solid understanding of robotics, autonomous vehicles, EVs, or other complex technical systems. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of service technicians supporting autonomous vehicle and robotics operations Own technician performance, productivity, accountability, and day-to-day execution across a high-uptime technical fleet Drive fleet readiness and uptime by ensuring maintenance, repairs, and service work are completed efficiently Foster a safety-first culture across robotics and autonomous vehicle service operations Ensure technicians follow service SOPs, work order processes, parts flow, and maintenance procedures Track operational KPIs including MTTR, MTBF, throughput, and SLA performance Identify technician performance gaps and coach the team toward stronger troubleshooting, repair quality, and execution Partner closely with Service Engineering on tooling, equipment, technical escalations, and new platform deployments Maintain accountability and readiness of service tools, diagnostic equipment, and fleet support resources Manage open work orders, technical escalations, parts status, fleet priorities, and shift execution Own PM-to-AM shift handoffs so unresolved vehicle, robotics, and service issues are clearly communicated Support technician development and build stronger technical capability across the team Coordinate service execution across multiple sites within the Greater Phoenix area Requirements 6+ years of experience in service operations, field service, technical operations, fleet maintenance, or a similar technical environment 2+ years of experience directly leading service technicians, field technicians, fleet technicians, or similar technical teams Experience leading teams that support robotics, autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, advanced mobility systems, or other complex electromechanical equipment Demonstrated experience managing technician performance and holding teams accountable for uptime, repair quality, and execution Strong experience with work order systems, maintenance workflows, and technical service operations Experience tracking and managing operational KPIs such as MTTR, MTBF, throughput, uptime, and SLAs Ability to prioritize repairs, manage technical escalations, and make operational decisions in a fast-paced environment Experience coaching and developing technicians in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair execution Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, fleet, or technical support teams Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience scaling technical operations, launching new fleets, supporting new vehicle platforms, or helping build out service infrastructure Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to successfully complete an MVR check Technical Background This role is designed for a leader who understands the technical environment their team is working in. The Service Lead does not need to be the primary technician, but they should be comfortable discussing diagnostics, repair strategy, system failures, fleet readiness, and technical escalations with both technicians and engineering teams. Experience in one or more of the following environments is strongly preferred: Autonomous vehicles or autonomous trucking Robotics or warehouse automation Robotaxi or autonomous delivery fleets Electric vehicles and advanced vehicle systems ADAS, sensor, or vehicle testing environments Fleet maintenance supporting complex technical vehicles Industrial automation or mechatronics Other complex electromechanical or software-enabled systems Preferred Qualifications Previous hands-on experience as an autonomous vehicle technician, robotics technician, field service technician, fleet technician, or similar technical role Experience leading technician teams supporting autonomous vehicles, robotics, EVs, or advanced mobility systems Experience with fleet uptime, vehicle readiness, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and technical escalation workflows Familiarity with MaintainX, JIRA, or similar work order and service platforms Exposure to technical tools or environments involving diagnostics, APIs, scripting, Python, GitHub, Linux, or similar systems Experience supporting new autonomous vehicle, robotics, or EV platform deployments Experience working closely with engineering teams to resolve recurring hardware, software, or fleet reliability issues Schedule PM Shift | 2:30 PM-11:00 PM Onsite | Greater Phoenix Area Some flexibility may be required for shift handoffs and occasional weekend coverage
