A Maintenance Planner improves workforce productivity and work quality of a maintenance organization by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. Reports to Maintenance Manager and maintains liaison between Operations and Maintenance. Through supervision of the Maintenance Administrator, the planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters.

EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES PLANNING ANALYST

The Educational Facilities Planning Analyst is a mid-level professional responsible for independently managing planning assignments and supporting the development of comprehensive school facilities plans, educational specifications, enrollment and demographic analyses, capital improvement programs, and state funding strategies. The Analyst serves as a project lead on assigned planning tasks and contributes significantly to the preparation of Facilities Master Plans, Facilities Implementation Plans, educational specifications, site assessments, capacity studies, and board presentations. This position requires the ability to translate educational program objectives into facility planning recommendations, conduct technical analyses, facilitate stakeholder discussions, and prepare professional reports for school district leadership and governing boards. The Analyst works with district administrators, architects, engineers, construction professionals, and financial consultants to develop recommendations that support modern educational environments and long-range capital planning initiatives Educational Facilities Planning Analysts are multi-talented visionaries that deliver superb written work, areas comfortable using skills of urban design to craft site plans and capital programs as they are crunching numbers and streamlining excel formulas and ultimately use their poise and confidence at the podium to present a completed planning product in front of public officials.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Educational Facilities Planning Conduct comprehensive school site assessments and prepare clear, well-written facility evaluation reports. Analyze school facilities to assess alignment with district goals, educational specifications, instructional programs, and operational requirements. Identify facility deficiencies, modernization needs, and opportunities to repurpose existing spaces. Develop recommendations for facility improvements, modernization projects, new construction, and campus reconfiguration; participate in the development of long-range facilities planning initiatives, including Facilities Master Plans and implementation strategies. Maintain current knowledge of advanced planning principles and practices, educational facility trends, research methods, applicable laws and regulations, land use planning, zoning, environmental review processes, and education policy. Educational Specifications Develop educational specifications for: General-purpose classrooms Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten facilities Preschool facilities Special education classrooms and support spaces Library and media centers Music, art, science, Career Technical Education (CTE), and STEM facilities Student wellness, counseling, and support spaces Research emerging educational practices, learning environments, and school facility design trends to support innovative planning solutions. Collaborate with educators, administrators, architects, and district stakeholders to ensure facility recommendations align with instructional goals and educational program requirements. Education Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Public Administration, Education, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred. Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in one or more of the following areas: Urban planning Educational facilities planning Architecture Facilities management School district planning or operations Other closely related fields Required Skills Excellent technical writing and report preparation skills. Strong analytical, quantitative, and data interpretation skills. Advanced proficiency with entire suite of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Excellent organizational skills. Strong public speaking, meeting facilitation, and presentation skills. Research, critical thinking, and analytical problem-solving abilities. Ability to interpret complex data and develop practical planning recommendations. Strong interpersonal and client service skills. Experience working with California public school districts. Experience preparing Educational Specifications (Ed Specs), Facilities Master Plans, and Facilities Implementation Plans. Experience conducting enrollment projections and demographic analyses. Experience supporting or administering California state school facilities funding programs. Familiarity with school facility capacity analysis, site assessments, and capital improvement planning. Independently analyze facilities, enrollment, demographic, financial, and planning data. Develop well-supported planning recommendations and technical reports. Manage multiple assignments and competing priorities while meeting project deadlines. Prepare Board-ready reports, presentations, and supporting documentation. Effectively communicate technical information to school district administrators, governing boards, consultants, and other stakeholders. Work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary project teams. Exercise sound judgment, discretion, and attention to detail in all work assignments. This is a full-time, on-site position. Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive compensation package ranging from $80,000 to $95,000 annually. Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, VSP, 401(k), health & wellness programs, vacation leave, sick leave, holiday pay, and paid time off.
