CENTRAL VALLEY MEAT COMPANY
Plant Maintenance Welder/Fabricator is responsible for all metal working repairs using various types of welding equipment such as Tig, Mig, Arc welders. Duties also include working on other equipment such as building structure, submersible pumps, corral railing/fencing, pluming, trenching, roofing repairs, and all other area`s as needed within the Building and Grounds department.
Job Description Responsibilities:
Overtime and weekend work is a must when needed. Measure and cut materials to the required dimensions using tools such as saws, grinders, and drills, and Milling machines. Ensure the quality of finished products by inspecting the materials and final assemblies for accuracy, conformity, and safety. Weld, solder, or bond materials together, including steel, aluminum, and other metals or materials. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and designers, to ensure that fabrication projects meet specifications and deadlines. Follow all safety procedures and wear necessary protective equipment. Troubleshoot issues with fabrication equipment and machinery when necessary. Keep accurate records of work completed, including time logs and inventory used.
Job Qualification Skills and Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques in Tig, Mig, Arc Welding, and machinery operation. Ability to read and write English and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics. Familiarity with safety regulations and practices. Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, as well as oxy-acetylene torch and plasma cutter. Attention to detail and precision in food manufacturing processes. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and equipment. High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical training or certification is a plus). Previous experience in a fabrication manufacturing environment is preferred. Welding or machining certification may be required, depending on the industry.
Working Conditions:
Fabricators typically work in a shop or factory environment, which may involve exposure to noise, heat, and fumes from welding or machinery. Protective gear such as gloves, goggles, and safety clothing is necessary. This job requires individuals to be precise, safety-conscious, and able to work both independently and within a team.
