Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Service Manager to lead our automotive service department with enthusiasm and a customer-focused mindset. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional vehicle repair and maintenance services, and foster a high-performing team. Your leadership will drive customer satisfaction, optimize service processes, and promote a positive work environment. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of the service department, including workflow, staffing, and customer interactions to ensure smooth daily operations. Lead and motivate service technicians by providing guidance, training, and support to maximize efficiency and quality of work. Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts, transmissions, and collision repairs. Utilize estimating software and automotive repair knowledge to prepare accurate repair estimates and communicate effectively with clients about services needed. Drive sales through upselling additional services and parts while maintaining integrity and customer trust. Ensure all service writing is clear, detailed, and transparent; handle client communication professionally to foster loyalty. Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies; coordinate with vendors for timely procurement. Maintain compliance with safety standards, dealership policies, and industry regulations. Handle cash transactions accurately; manage billing processes efficiently. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing service metrics and implementing process enhancements. Skills Proven experience in auto service management or dealership environments with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair. Mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, brakes, suspension components like shocks & struts, tire services, oil changes, etc. Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients. Demonstrated ability in upselling services while maintaining ethical standards; experience in auto estimating and service writing is highly valued. Strong leadership skills to manage a team of service technicians; experience in dealership or collision repair settings is preferred. Knowledge of automotive repair procedures combined with sales acumen to identify opportunities for additional revenue streams. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed. Familiarity with cash handling procedures and inventory management practices.
