Company Overview A senior retirement community in the Coachella Valley is looking for a full-time maintenance director. Our dedicated team are committed to providing exceptional service, ensuring our residents experience comfort, safety, and peace of mind in their lifelong home. The maintenance director ensures that all areas of the community are in working order. Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Healthcare Facility Maintenance Director to oversee all maintenance operations within our community. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a strong understanding of facilities management and compliance in healthcare settings. As the Maintenance Director, you will lead maintenance teams, housekeeping, and laundry to ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain the functionality of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to support a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff. Responsibilities Manage and supervise facilities maintenance teams, housekeeping, and laundry, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations to ensure efficient operations. Oversee the repair and maintenance of mechanical systems, electrical systems—including high voltage and low voltage components—and plumbing infrastructure in accordance with industry standards. Develop and implement preventive maintenance procedures utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to optimize equipment lifespan and operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations, facility safety protocols, and environmental standards across all maintenance activities. Troubleshoot engineering issues related to HVAC systems, electrical circuits using voltmeters and ohmmeters, schematics interpretation, and industrial maintenance practices. Coordinate project management efforts for facility upgrades or repairs, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, safety inspections, repair logs, and compliance records to support regulatory audits. Qualifications Proven management experience overseeing facilities maintenance teams within healthcare or similar environments. Extensive mechanical knowledge with expertise in HVAC system repair, electrical systems—including high voltage—plumbing system maintenance—and industrial maintenance procedures. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, safety regulations such as OSHA standards, and engineering troubleshooting techniques. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and communication purposes. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Supervising experience in managing facilities maintenance operations with a focus on safety regulations and team leadership. Knowledge of CMMS platforms for work order management and maintenance tracking.
