Reports to Maintenance Manager and maintains liaison between Operations and Maintenance. Through supervision of the Maintenance Administrator, the planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters.

This is a Licensed-Architect-required role and calls for medical equipment planning experience on hospitals, clinics, and other active healthcare facilities. Applicants must have 5+ years of professional architectural experience with a focus on the design and construction administration of commercial or institutional buildings. This role coordinates procurement, placement, and integration of medical equipment supporting clinical needs and patient care. Key Responsibilities Coordinate procurement, placement, and integration of medical equipment to support clinical needs and enhance patient care. Plan layout and installation of equipment to optimize workflow and efficiency given spatial constraints and operational needs of clinical departments. Conduct research and analysis to select equipment that meets quality, budget, and code/regulatory compliance. Develop, review, and coordinate medical equipment lists, room data sheets, equipment matrices, cut sheets, and planning documentation. Coordinate with clinical users, facility staff, designers, project managers, contractors, vendors, and procurement stakeholders. Review drawings, room layouts, utility requirements, and project scopes for equipment coordination issues including space, clearances, mounting, seismic, infection control, and operations. Manage vendor relationships, oversee installation processes, and provide staff training on equipment use and maintenance. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited program required. Registered Architect with a current US license required. Proof of licensure required prior to assignment. NCARB certification desirable for reciprocity. 5 or more years of professional architectural experience required, with focus on design and construction administration of commercial or institutional buildings. In-depth knowledge of architectural details and medical equipment, including assembly, seismic requirements, infection control standards, and environmental factors. In-depth knowledge of building codes and standards: IBC, NFPA, and ADA/ABA. Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural plans, specifications, and terminology. Healthcare project experience in renovation work within active facilities highly preferred. Knowledge of federal healthcare design standards (space planning criteria, door hardware schedules, design guidelines) highly preferred. Federal healthcare project experience preferred. Revit and AutoCAD proficiency preferred. Federal Contract Requirements Some local travel within the Palo Alto service area is part of normal duties. Tier 1 Low Risk / Non-Sensitive background investigation (NACI / SF-85) required prior to assignment. Must abide by all client facility rules, security procedures, and safety regulations.
