A Maintenance Planner improves workforce productivity and work quality of a maintenance organization by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. Reports to Maintenance Manager and maintains liaison between Operations and Maintenance. Through supervision of the Maintenance Administrator, the planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters.

What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Maintenance Plannerto support R D laboratories, pilot production operations, and critical facility infrastructure. The Facilities Maintenance team drives operational excellence by developing, standardizing, and executing maintenance strategies that maximize equipment reliability, improve asset performance, and ensure the availability of mission-critical laboratory and facility systems in support of highly innovative research and manufacturing activities. What You'll Do
Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across R D laboratories, pilot production areas, and facility infrastructure to maximize uptime and minimize operational disruption
Develop, maintain, and optimize maintenance and calibration schedules for critical laboratory equipment and facility systems
Manage the CMMS work order lifecycle, including planning, prioritization, scheduling, documentation, and closure
Analyze equipment and facility failures, identify root causes, and support reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
Generate and maintain maintenance KPIs, backlog reports, schedule compliance metrics, and asset performance dashboards
Coordinate maintenance resources, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of work
Maintain spare parts inventory strategies, technical documentation, and compliance with safety and operational requirements What You'll Bring
10+ years of experience in facilities maintenance planning, scheduling, or maintenance management within R D, laboratory, manufacturing, semiconductor, biotech, or similar technical environments
Strong knowledge of facility infrastructure systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, process utilities, and laboratory support equipment
Proven experience with CMMS platforms, preventive maintenance programs, asset management, and maintenance planning best practices
Demonstrated ability to develop KPIs, maintenance reports, asset reliability metrics, and data-driven improvement plans
Experience managing spare parts programs, contractor coordination, budgeting support, and technical documentation
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and maintenance reporting tools
Strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Compensation and Benefits

Expected Compensation
$96,000 - $210,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
