Job Description

Maintenance SupervisorPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities for an industrial facility. The role is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment and building systems through preventive and corrective maintenance. The Maintenance Supervisor will manage a team of technicians, support continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and schedule maintenance technicians to ensure coverage for preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance tasks across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and fabrication systems.

Lead troubleshooting and repair of production equipment, PLC-controlled systems, boilers, wastewater treatment components, and ancillary plant systems to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.

Develop, implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs and work order processes using CMMS; track key maintenance metrics and prepare reports for management.

Oversee maintenance projects, including fabrication and welding work, equipment installations, upgrades, and capital improvement tasks, coordinating contractors as needed.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements; train and coach staff on safe work practices (lockout/tagout, confined space, PPE) and enforce all site safety policies.

Manage spare parts inventory and procurement priorities to support rapid turnaround on critical repairs and reduce lead times.

Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to technicians for complex mechanical, electrical, and PLC troubleshooting tasks; mentor and develop team skills through on-the-job training.

Collaborate with production, engineering, and operations teams to prioritize maintenance activities around production schedules and continuous improvement projects.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and documentation for regulatory and audit purposes.

Qualifications5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role overseeing maintenance teams.

Demonstrated skills in industrial maintenance practices including mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, fabrication, and welding.

Proven experience with maintenance supervision duties such as scheduling, work order management, and team leadership.

Strong troubleshooting skills and practical experience with PLCs, control systems, and automated equipment.

Experience with boilers and wastewater treatment systems is highly desirable.

Familiarity with maintenance management principles and CMMS software; experience implementing preventive maintenance programs.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and mentor technicians and work cross-functionally with production and engineering.

Commitment to safety with working knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices (lockout/tagout, confined space, PPE).Relevant technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or related field; professional certifications (e.g., trade certifications, OSHA) are a plus.
